    A voltage tester detects voltage and, depending on the model, continuity, phase sequence, or residual current device (RCD) function; a socket tester checks the wiring of a socket; a fuse finder identifies the corresponding circuit breaker for each socket. For verification of disconnection, the two-pole voltage tester is the relevant device. The PAN Socket-Test-2 is suitable for quick socket checks, and the PAN Circuit Finder is used for circuit identification.

  • When is a fuse finder or circuit finder useful?

    A fuse finder is useful when you need to quickly identify the fuse, circuit breaker, or residual current device (RCD) associated with a wall socket. The PAN circuit finder works with a transmitter and receiver: The transmitter is plugged into the wall socket and sends a signal into the wiring, while the receiver locates the corresponding circuit breaker in the distribution board. This reduces search time during installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

  • What does a socket tester or outlet tester check?

    A socket tester quickly and reliably checks the wiring of grounded sockets using visual indicators. The PAN Socket-Test-2 detects typical wiring errors such as missing conductors or reversed connections, displays the status via green and red LEDs, and features an LCD voltage display as well as a 30 mA residual current device (RCD) test. The device is designed for Schuko sockets, requires no battery, and is suitable for installation, maintenance, and servicing.

  • Which measurement category do voltage testers require for work in switchgear and on the power grid?

    For measurements within fixed building installations, at least CAT III is required; for measurements at the service entrance, on meter installations, or in areas close to the grid, CAT IV is required.
